Meimei’s is a bistro planned for the Lower East Side that will feature influences from two highly celebrated cuisines: French and Chinese. According to a document submitted to Community Board 3, the menu MeiMei’s will include dishes like sunflower mousse with blueberry jam, mussel escabeche with Shaoxing-style foie gras, and panna cotta.
Located at 143 Orchard St., MeiMei’s will have table seating for 38 guests and a bar with eight seats. The bistro is seeking a full liquor license. An opening date has not been announced, and What Now New York has reached out for more information. Meimei’s is set to take the place of the former Gugu Room, which featured a blend of Filipino and Japanese cuisines.
