A popular homemade ice cream shop is getting ready to scoop into Lexington.

Scoop of Heaven, co-owned by Suzanne Pucci and Bill McDaniels, is expanding to 312 Columbia Ave. The new shop will join its flagship location in Elgin.

“Lexington is a great town. The people in Lexington are amazing–the Chamber, the town, the police. We knew that when we opened the store in Elgin that we wanted to be in Lexington next,” Pucci told What Now Charleston.

Construction recently began on the new location, with plans to rebuild the storefront to mirror the original outpost. A rendering shared on Facebook shows a spacious shop with large floor-to-ceiling windows, indoor and outdoor seating and a drive-thru.

Scoop of Heaven will serve its signature specialty flavors, including “Chocolate Brownie Explosion,” made with chocolate ice cream, brownie bites, swirls of butterscotch and chocolate-covered pretzel pieces, and “Graham Bliss,” featuring graham-flavored ice cream with chocolate-covered honeycomb bites.

The shop is “always coming up with new flavors to keep it exciting.” The latest additions include Mocha Oreo and Mint Moose Tracks, along with a new vegan option, Banana Almond Butter.

The duo also plans to launch a food truck in the next couple of weeks, with availability for community gatherings, corporate events and private parties.

Pucci said she is grateful for the opportunity.

“I think just seeing what’s happened, being so blessed that we did so well in Elgin, that we’re able to open a second one. It’s really been a dream come true,” she said.

Scoop of Heaven is aiming to open by late summer or early fall, and the duo is already looking ahead to future expansion.
