A long-standing New York restaurant is set to close due to financial challenges. Cozy Soup ‘n’ Burger announced it will close on June 21, 2026. Loyal customers are shocked by the news and have poured out their emotions on social media.

Cozy Soup ‘n’ Burger Announced Permanent Closure

Cozy Soup ‘n’ Burger, located at 739 Broadway in New York, announced its closure via an Instagram video. The owner mentioned, “I tried, but I failed.” The caption read, “After 54 unforgettable years, the time has come for us to say goodbye.”

In March, the restaurant initiated a GoFundMe campaign, seeking support from the community. The restaurant said managing costs and operations since the pandemic has been difficult.

In the closure announcement, the restaurant cited that the decision follows financial challenges. “Rising costs and declining business have made it impossible for us to continue, but we are deeply grateful for the love and support this community has shown us over the years.”

The restaurant thanked its loyal customers and every guest who supported the establishment. In the comments, patrons shared memories of the restaurant and expressed sadness over its upcoming closure.
