A longtime French restaurant in Naperville has suddenly closed its doors. Paris Bistro was known for its vast French offerings in a welcoming atmosphere. The restaurant’s loyal customers outpoured their reactions following the closure announcement.

Paris Bistro Closes After 13-Year Run in Naperville

After 13 years of service to South Naperville, Paris Bistro has closed its doors permanently. Located at 2656 Showplace Drive, the restaurant confirmed its closure on June 7 through a Facebook post.

The post read, “It is with heavy hearts that we announce that Paris Bistro has permanently closed its doors.”

The restaurant evolved over the years into a place for people to come for French-inspired dining.

The restaurant’s legacy in Naperville, however, paved the way for numerous locals to taste and experience authentic French cuisine and hospitality. The restaurant aimed to be a true, independent, family-owned business deeply rooted in the community.

The restaurant thanked customers and employees for their support over the years. The team cited, “Your kindness, loyalty, and support meant the world to us, and we will always be grateful for the deep friendships and connections made along the way.”

The announcement prompted reactions from customers on social media. One of the comments read, “Announced immediately and no chance to enjoy one last time? Was thinking of going there for our next girls’ lunch.”

Another diner appreciated Paris Bistro’s offerings, writing, “Thank you for letting me be part of your family. We had amazing moments, and I am sure life has better things ahead. Blessings and success to all of you.”

The restaurant did not cite a reason for the closure. According to a report by the Chicago Tribune, Owners took on pandemic-era loans to survive the COVID-19 era. However, accumulated debt and rent arrears made reorganization impossible. The restaurant even filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in April 2024 and later requested dismissal of the case.
