Arty’s Steakhouse is finally inching towards opening its first location in Las Vegas’ Historic Commercial Center District. According to a Clark County permit, the new steakhouse and art gallery is anticipated to open at 953 E Sahara Ave, Ste. A12.

Slated to offer affordable steakhouse fare, a formidable liquor collection, draft beer, and a unique art-focused experience in a massive, atmospheric space, Arty’s Steakhouse has been on its way to opening for the last three years.

What Now Las Vegas spoke with co-owner Derek Stonebarger, who is set to run the establishment with his wife, Dorian StonebargerStonebarger shared that, after many permitting delays, construction is now nearly complete and Arty’s Steakhouse should open this fall.

“It’s been the most challenging project I’ve ever worked on, but we’re committed to doing it right, and that takes time,” Stonebarger said.

“Restoring and repurposing a nearly 10,000-square-foot building originally constructed in 1963 has been an enormous undertaking. As with many historic buildings, every time a new condition is uncovered or a revision is requested, plans often have to go back through engineering, architectural review, and permitting. Even after work has already been completed, additional reviews can sometimes create months of delays.”

What really sets this exciting new addition to the Las Vegas Valley’s culinary scene apart is the extensive art that the Stonebargers plan to display at the venue. Everything from still life to furniture pieces will really amplify the vibes of this Historic Commercial Center District space.

“Arty’s Steakhouse is a spin-off of our other well-known Las Vegas businesses: ReBAR, Davy’s, and Barter Beer + Mall,” Stonebarger said.

“Like those concepts, Arty’s embraces the idea that everything is for sale. The restaurant will feature more than 1,000 works of art throughout the building, all available for customers to purchase, and take home.”

The collection will include works by local artists, repurposed artvintage piecesantiques, and mid-century modern artwork, including many Las Vegas-centric pieces that tell the story of the City. Arty’s is designed to be part steakhouse, part gallery, part community gathering place.

Chef Pedro Estala is on board and will lend his culinary talents and expertise to building the expansive Arty’s Steakhouse menu.

“We’re especially excited about Chef Pedro Estala’s “Starving Artist” menu, which will offer complete meals with a side starting around $15,” Stonebarger said.

“At the same time, we’ve put a lot of effort into developing vegetarian, gluten-free, and alternative menu options so groups with different dietary preferences can all enjoy dining together – in the name of Art!”

Some examples of items guests can grab from the starving artist menu include Blackened Mexican Pork chops with Cuban rice and beansSteak Fried Ricesteak and eggs served 24 hours a day, and rotating comfort-food favorites.

One item Stonebarger says he’s particularly excited about is Arty’s Nevada Jackalope, a signature vegetarian creation developed by Chef Pedro specifically for Arty’s.

“It will be available both as a menu item in the restaurant and as a retail product that guests can take home. We think it’s a fun, uniquely Nevada offering that reflects the creative spirit behind the entire concept,” Stonebarger said.

“Our goal is to create a place where someone can enjoy a premium steak dinner, a vegetarian meal, or a gluten-free option without feeling limited—and at a fair price.”

The menu, as previously reported, will feature dry-aged steaks, including filet mignon, porterhouse, T-bones, and other cuts. Guests can pair their steaks with a slew of sides, including asparagusmac & cheese, potatoes, and more. On tap, welp, just a half a dozen draft beers for your liking. And we can miss the opportunity to discuss their selection of desserts and dessert cocktails for you to choose from.

“Visitors from around the world will be able to come as you are, enjoy a drink, have an affordable meal, discover local artists, and take a piece of Las Vegas culture home with them,” Stonebarger said.

“Whether that art is shipped across the country or carried onto a plane, every piece helps tell the story of our city – and Artists will be working inside the building as you dine. Las Vegas is experiencing a remarkable creative movement right now, and we’re proud to create a venue that helps celebrate and support it.”

Check it all out for yourself when the new Arty’s Steakhouse opens its doors in the Historic Commercial Center District at 953 E Sahara Ave, Ste. A12 this fall.

“We know this project has taken longer than expected, and we appreciate everyone’s patience,” Stonebarger said.

“Building something special is rarely easy. As the saying goes, good things come to those who wait—but great things come to those who refuse to cut corners. Arty’s has been built with passion, persistence, and a genuine love for Las Vegas. We can’t wait to finally open the doors and share it with the community.”
