A hometown bar concept out of New York and Miami is coming to Detroit this year.

Ray’s is a new drink spot under construction in the Parker’s Alley area at 19 E Grand River Avenue. This is at the base of the Shinola Hotel on Woodward Avenue downtown. Right now, the team is aiming to open the bar around September.

The bar comes from both NoHo Hospitality Group and Quirarte’s Authentic Hospitality Group, headed by Carlos Quirarte. NoHo Hospitality also runs San Morello on Woodward Avenue, with other concepts at the Shinola Hotel. This is their latest project for the hotel.

“Ray’s is a hometown bar built on the belief that great hospitality never goes out of style. Known for creating welcoming spaces where everyone belongs,” says a statement from NoHo Hospitality.

Drinks to be served include beers on tap like Guinness, frozen cocktails and martini. Similar to the New York and Miami bars, it will have a bar top with stools, booths and a space for private events. The inside is to have wood paneling, Detroit sports memorabilia and photos on the walls.

“The opening builds on NoHo’s growing Detroit portfolio, reinforces its long-term commitment to the city and continues its investment in Detroit’s food and beverage community,” the statement from NoHo Hospitality continues.

The status of construction is not known at this time. As it is early in the opening process, the team will be releasing more information in the coming weeks.
