After debuting in Southeast Michigan this year, a franchisor has plans for the state capital.

Rosati’s is bringing authentic Chicago-style pizza to the Lansing area at 644 Migaldi Lane this year. This is the first time the company is extending into central Michigan. The team at Rosati’s in Delta Township told What Now Detroit the anticipated opening date right now is in December.

This new Rosati’s is being opened by Chintan Patel, the same franchisee who owns the Southfield location at 29854 Northwestern Highway. This opened in April, and Patel has been looking into the Delta Township area for around a year. As of now, there are no firm plans for additional restaurants around Michigan.

“It’s been on our radar since we are in discussion with Rosatis.” franchise team member Geno Bozzo told What Now Detroit.

The company comes from humble beginnings as the sons of Italian immigrant Saverio Rosati, Dick, Ron and Al, opened the first pizza shop in 1964 in Mount Prospect, Illinois. From there, the chain began franchising throughout the Chicago area, now with almost 100 locations in Illinois. The family still runs the restaurant today.

While the chain is known for Chicago deep dish, other options like thin crust, double dough, stuffed and gluten-free crust are available. Locations also serve Calzones, with proteins like sausage, ground beef, Canadian bacon and chicken. Those in the mood for something lighter can go with a salad, garlic bread and other sides.

Rosati’s in Lansing is already listed online, coming to the south side of Migaldi Lane. This is in the same plaza as Anna’s House Grand Ledge, and is next to a Wing Snob location. The storefront is on Lansing’s far west side.
