Barcelona Wine Bar is expanding to the south side with plans to open a new restaurant in the Denver Tech Center area in 2027.
The new restaurant will be located at 8101 E. Belleview Avenue at On The Square, which will be the second location of Barcelona Wine Bar in Denver. The current restaurant of the chain can be found at 2900 Larimer Street in RiNo.
The new restaurant will offer an interior space that will cover approximately 4,000 square feet and two patios of about 1,000 square feet each.
Barcelona Wine Bar is known for its Spanish and Mediterranean-inspired small plates, with a menu built around seasonal ingredients and rustic preparations. The restaurant’s website describes the concept as a warm, welcoming tapas bar inspired by the culture of Spain.
Wine is a major part of the experience. Barcelona’s program focuses heavily on Spain and South America, with more than 40 wines available by the glass and roughly 500 selections by the bottle across its restaurants. The list also puts an emphasis on organic, biodynamic and natural winemaking.
For the DTC location, Barcelona is bringing the same lively neighborhood feel that has become part of its identity, giving South Denver another spot for tapas, wine and a leisurely meal.
