Bridgeport Village’s furniture push is getting a distinctly local addition. City Home, a Portland-founded lifestyle and furniture brand, is planning a fall opening at 7301 SW Bridgeport Rd, according to the mall’s leasing announcements, joining Herman Miller, Design Within Reach and Arhaus as part of the center’s broader shift toward home focused retail.
Kim Pelett started City Home in 2012, growing the business from a small booth inside a cooperative shop into a locally owned brand with showrooms across Portland, Bend, Lake Oswego, Cedar Hills and Vancouver, WA. The company’s style leans into vintage inspired, mid-century modern and industrial pieces, with sectional sofas, dining tables, wall art and one-of-a-kind vintage finds like neon signs and live-edge wood furniture rounding out its catalog. City Home is also a member of the Sustainable Furnishings Council, sourcing reclaimed and recycled pieces alongside newer furniture built to last.
The brand’s flagship Portland showroom on SE 3rd Avenue spans 10,000 square feet, complete with a separate outlet store nearby offering discounts on lightly imperfect pieces. Bridgeport Village would mark City Home’s first mall-based location, a shift from its usual standalone showroom format toward a more traditional retail center setting.
City Home has built its identity specifically around Pacific Northwest style, positioning itself as an alternative to big-box furniture chains for shoppers looking for something more curated and locally rooted, a contrast to the national and international brands also joining Bridgeport Village’s fall wave.
