The Shops at Church 103 is getting another tenant early next year.
The team at The Emerald Cup are getting ready to introduce their new kiosk at the building, 2501 W 103rd Street. This will be a permanent location serving many of the same coffees regular visitors of the cart have come to expect. Co-owner Katie McEnery told What Now Chicago the coffee cart is open at the church through the holidays, but she and Kelly Devine are hoping to get the kiosk fully open by March.
McEnery and Devine were first approached by the owner of Church 103 a year ago, who was looking for a coffee vendor at the space. They have already done pop-ups at the church, and have clearly seen the community’s interest in their coffee cart.
“The response really blew up,” Devine said. She added that she grew up on the South Side, not far at all from the church.
This is the second concept from the team coming to the South Side, the other being Emerald Social in Mokena. What Now Chicago previously covered this concept planned for the suburb at 10020 191st, and it has not yet opened.
The coffee pop-up has served signature lattes like their liquid gold with caramel and vanilla. Alternatives to coffee are a chai tea latte, lemonade and refreshers with flavors including bubbly strawberry. They will be adding food additions once the kiosk is fully open.
The church is on the south end of W 103rd Street, across from Beverly Park. This is near the Western Avenue intersection, close to food options like Swanson’s Deli and Shark’s Fish & Chicken. This is not far from the 103rd St. – Beverly Hills Metra station.
As it gets closer to the opening date, more updates can be found on their Facebook or Instagram pages.
