A Canadian brand that specializes in Thai rolled ice cream is expanding to Georgetown. Rollz Ice Cream will open in a 1,645-square-foot space at 3701 W. Highway 29, Unit 18101, according to a filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. The project is slated to be completed in late July, according to the filing.

Launched in Scarborough, Canada, in 2017, Rollz Ice Cream now has opened more than 20 locations across Canada. The chain serves rolled ice cream that “combines the best of Thai and Canadian dessert traditions,” according to the brand’s website.

“The result is an experience unlike any other that has earned Rollz a cult-like following,” the website states. “Rollz has succeeded, thanks to a business model that helps entrepreneurs start and grow a business that they love.”

In addition to a variety of rolled ice cream flavors such as nutella crunch, fudge brownie and mango peach, the brand also serves milkshakes, faloodas, waffles, cheesecake and popping soda.

The website states that the brand is currently planning openings in the U.S., though it appears that no locations have opened yet outside of Canada.

What Now Austin has reached out to ownership for additional details on the forthcoming location.
