The team behind Soupleaf Hot Pot has a new project in the works. As the team — composed of brothers Nelson and Nick Lin, and their mother, Jin Lin — prepares to open up another new concept, Mama Lin’s Soup & Leaves, this year, they are also heading south of Austin to open a third restaurant. Soupgreens by Mama Lin will take a 9,000-square-foot space at San Marcos Place at 900 Bugg Lane, Suite 150, according to a permit filed with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.
Jin, the inspiration behind the “Mama Lin” brand, confirmed that she is bringing a new restaurant to the development in San Marcos but declined to provide further details on the concept at this time.
The project’s permit indicates that construction is expected to start this summer and conclude by the end of the year. Based on renovation plans, it appears that the team may be targeting a 2027 opening for Soupgreens by Mama Lin.
Soupleaf Hot Pot offers an all-you-can-eat hot pot experience, and the forthcoming Mama Lin’s Soup & Leaves will offer an all-you-can-eat soup-and-salad experience featuring Asian flavors. At this time, further menu and design details for Soupgreens by Mama Lin remain unknown and it is unclear if Soupgreens will feature similar offerings to the existing concepts from the family.
