An authentic Vietnamese restaurant is coming soon to Downtown Savannah.

Pho 5Spices, owned by Tobey Vu, will open at 114 E. Broughton St. Located in the heart of Broughton Street, the bustling corridor is lined with shops and restaurants and sees steady foot traffic.

“There are no other Vietnamese restaurants, so we thought it would be awesome to bring our food and our culture to downtown. There’s a lot of locals, travelers and tourists there,” Vu told What Now Charleston.

The eatery’s interior will transport guests to Vietnam, where street food culture comes alive through the aroma of fresh fare filling the air. A large mural will span the walls, while warm wood accents and hanging lanterns will add to the atmosphere.

Pho 5Spices will focus on three signature Vietnamese dishes alongside shareable appetizers such as crispy egg rolls, fresh spring rolls, edamame, fried dumplings, chicken wings and cream cheese rangoon.

“The first is pho—that’s the famous Vietnamese dish that most people love and know about. The other is grilled pork chop rice plates, and the third is grilled meat vermicelli bowls,” Vu said. “We try to have a smaller menu so we can focus on the quality of the food instead of having a huge menu with everything on it.”

Vu looks forward to bringing something new to the Savannah community.

“I’m excited to introduce people to the food, we have a good authentic recipe. Secondly, the decoration that we did. We put a lot of time into it,” he said.

Pho 5Spices plans to hold a soft opening at the end of May, followed by a grand opening three weeks later in June.
