A slew of new eateries is set to open next year in Bluffton’s New Riverside Village, a 35-acre development that features homes, shops, restaurants, and a park.
A town-owned pond, bordered by a paved walking path, will separate the retail and dining areas.
On one side, Compass Commons at New Riverside, developed by The Richardson Group, will comprise four buildings and 16,000 square feet of space. According to The Island Packet, seven local businesses have committed to the development, with five leases already confirmed.
Among the new eateries is Local Pie, a wood-fired pizza joint with existing locations in Bluffton and Hilton Head. In addition to its classic, specialty, and build-your-own pizzas, Local Pie offers salads, subs, calzones, and desserts.
Lee Lucier, Chief Operating Officer of The Richardson Group and owner of Local Pie, stated that the goal of the project is to support local businesses that are integral to the community.
While the exact address of the upcoming eatery has not yet been finalized, New Riverside Village is located at the southeast corner of New Riverside Road and S.C. 46.
Lucier told The Island Packet that most tenants at Compass Commons at New Riverside are expected to open in January 2025, with Local Pie likely joining in March.
