A growing donut franchise is expanding with its second Lowcountry location.

Parlor Doughnuts is preparing to debut at 201 Okatie Village Dr, Suite 1 in The Shoppes at Okatie Village. Franchisees Lee and Amanda Hicks are thrilled to launch the Okatie location, which will join an already-established site on Pawleys Island.

In addition to these locations, Parlor operates a shop in Greenville and is planning three more in Summerville, Johns Island, and Myrtle Beach. (Details on these sites are forthcoming.)

The Shoppes at Okatie Village is a new retail complex that will feature a variety of dining options. It’s conveniently located near the intersection of SC-170 and U.S. 278, next to Wells Fargo Bank and directly across from Food Lion. The 9,911-square-foot development will feature spacious patio areas and ample parking.

Parlor Doughnuts was founded in Evansville, Indiana, in 2019 and has quickly expanded nationwide, today boasting 57 shops across 16 states, with 32 more currently under construction. The company is approved to franchise in all 50 states.

Known for its Famous Layered Doughnuts, Parlor offers a unique twist on the classic fried treat, with layers of buttery dough that are crisp on the outside and light and fluffy on the inside. The menu also features vegan, gluten-friendly, and keto-friendly options, along with artisanal breakfasts and specialty coffees.

Lee told What Now Charleston that the Okatie location will offer the full doughnut, kitchen, and coffee menu. The target opening date is mid-December 2024, pending construction progress.

“We are excited to bring Parlor to the Lowcountry!” Lee said.
