A local couple is getting ready to make their coffee dreams come true, and is bringing Azle java fanatics along for the ride. Bryan and Rene Wallace are bringing a fresh caffeine jolt to the neighborhood courtesy of their new cafe concept Pro Libertate Coffee, reports Culture Map Fort Worth.
The Wallaces are reinventing the space at 150 West Main Street destined to become one of the DFW’s favorite coffee stops. The building previously housed Empire Gymnastics, and work is actively underway to transform the facility from athletics to lattes.
A precise opening date is not currently available for Pro Libertate Coffee, however the Wallaces anticipate brewing their first pot for the public in May. The couple held a ribbon cutting on February 13, kicking off the cafe’s next stage of evolution.
While there are certainly numerous coffee shops on the market, former policeman Bryan Wallace landed on a unique angle for Pro Libertate, inspired by his own frustrations with the industry. He explains: “Not having an option to get good coffee while I was at work and especially not having good coffee after 6 pm was pretty rough.”
Pro Libertate will be open from 10 am to 9 pm, Tuesdays through Saturdays, ensuring visitors can get a pick-me-up whenever they need one.
To further ensure everyone can enjoy a great cup of coffee, Pro Libertate will have a play space for children, allowing tired parents to indulge in a refreshing beverage.
The shop has been a passion project of the Wallaces for eight years, with a great deal of care and research dedicated to ensuring Pro Libertate lives up to their vision and serves its customers in the best way possible. Bryan states: “We’d travel all over the US trying different coffee shops, getting an idea of what we did and didn’t like and what we wanted to incorporate in ours.”
