Sandbox VR has opened a new venue in Denver’s River North (RiNo) Art District. The opening expands the company’s presence through both corporate-operated and franchise locations.

Sandbox VR Opens New Denver RiNo Location

The new Sandbox VR space in Denver is near to an existing VR location in Lone Tree, Colorado. The company’s Virginia Beach location is operated by franchise partner Smack Entertainment LLC.

According to the company, almost 150,000 people play through its VR experiences monthly in its global network. The Denver space opened on July 14 occupies about 7,490 square feet in RiNo, according to PRNewswire. The facility features three private VR rooms, each fitting groups of up to six players.

Participants use VR headsets, haptic vests, and motion sensors that track full-body movement during each experience. The technology allows participants to see and interact with one another while exploring shared virtual environments.

At the end of each session, attendees receive highlight videos to take and share moments from their experience.

According to PRNewswire, Sandbox VR CEO and founder Steve Zhao said the Denver venue follows the company’s franchise growth strategy used in Virginia Beach. “Scott has had success with his Virginia Beach location, which opened last year, and we’re excited to continue that momentum with this new venue,” added Zhao.

“As I’ve seen first-hand with our initial Sandbox VR location, there is a huge demand from consumers for more immersive entertainment,” said Scott Boren, Franchise Owner, Sandbox VR.
