Pies will still be served at the Wyandotte storefront this year.
Tru Pizza Co. at 3144 Biddle Avenue in Wyandotte is going through a change as it will reopen as The Pizza Bar this fall. The originally concept debuted in January of this year. Right now, the team is hoping to open this October.
The previous concept serves gluten-free pizza, and still operates in Troy, Plymouth and Wyandotte. The owner and chef behind the Wynadotte location is Anthony Cipolla, who will also be opening The Pizza Bar. When What Now Detroit reached out to Cipolla, he was not available for comment.
“Pizza – cocktails – cold beer,” says the description on their Instagram page. The description also states the restaurant will have live music and trivia.
The building is on the south end of downtown Wyandotte, next to Luxe Studios and Mothra Tattoo Studios. This area has a few other restaurants, including La Creme Pastry, Grand Dad’s Bar and The Vault on First. The building is a few blocks south of the Bishop Park Riverwalk.
Right now, the restaurant is hiring for positions such as bartenders, servers, pizza makers and dishwashers. As it gets closer to the opening date, Cipolla and the team will be revealing more updates for the concept on social media.
