Wolfgang Puck and Barbara Lazaroff’s long-closed Granita will soon become Emmanuel Dossetti’s Zinqué Malibu, according to recently-erected signs at 23725 Malibu Road.

The Malibu Colony Shopping Plaza space has stood vacant since 2005 when Puck and Lazaroff opted not to renew the lease on their 15-year-old business.

Dossetti opened the first Zinqué in Venice in 2011 before establishing six more outposts in WeHo, Newport, DTLA, San Diego, Scottsdale, and Century City. The French-born restaurateur/entrepreneur is also responsible for Santa Monica’s Massilia, a Zinqué spin-off concept.

Zinqué — pronounced zin-kæ — boasts a high-design, low-key “neighborhood” atmosphere with French-inspired small plates, craft cocktails, and a uniquely curated wine/beer selection.

The menu offers eatables like smoked salmon toast, ratatouille quiche, and tomato avocado tartine. However, Dossetti’s extensive list of chow — which varies from location to location — also yields dishes like broccoli-spinach-green curry soup and pork banh mi amongst other fun and unexpected provisions.
