Salad chain Sweetgreen has signed a lease for a 2,865-square-foot building in Burbank that previously housed a Boston Market. The freestanding building, located at 4320 W Riverside Drive, offers an outdoor patio and 48 parking spaces. The opening date is slated for the first half of 2021, according to a Sweetgreen spokesperson.

The salad chain opened its first California location in mid-2015 in West Hollywood. There are currently 16 Sweetgreen locations across the state. When What Now Los Angeles asked the spokesperson if there are additional expansion plans, the answer received was, “We’re always listening to our customers and keeping an eye on the future.” No specific details were provided.

The company was founded in 2007 in Washington, D.C., and is currently based in Culver City. Sweetgreen currently operates in several states across the U.S., including Colorado, Illinois, Massachusetts, New York, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Texas. In 2019, Crunchbase reported that the company’s valuation was at  $1.6 billion.
