Tropical Smoothie Cafe is set to open its fifth Memphis location in the Raleigh Springs Market Place development, located at 3545 Austin Peay Hwy, according to construction permits recently filed with the city.

A franchise representative of this location did not return a request for comment.

Raleigh Springs Market Place is being developed by Atlanta-based commercial real estate investment firm, The Shopping Center Group, and currently has five tenants including Starbucks, Bojangles, Chick-fil-A, Chase Bank, and of course, Tropical Smoothie Cafe.

It’s unclear when the shopping center might open.

Construction plans reviewed by What Now Memphis call for a 1,782-square-foot space with room for 42 occupants and a drive-thru.

Much like The Shopping Center Group, Tropical Smoothie Cafe is currently headquartered in Atlanta, though it was founded in Destin, FL in 1997, before opening its first franchise in Tallahassee a year later.

With more than 1,235 locations across the country, Tropical Smoothie Cafe prides itself on “[serving] up great-tasting, nutritious food and smoothies,” including flatbreads, wraps, quesadillas, sandwiches, salads, and breakfast options.

According to the website, “fan faves” include the Three Cheese Chicken Quesadilla, Turkey Bacon Ranch Sandwich, Buffalo Chicken Wrap, Chipotle Chicken Flatbread, as well as the Detox Island Green, Sunrise Sunset, and Bahama Mama smoothies.
