After more than two decades of service, a locally owned boutique will be closing its doors next month. The Pink Door, a locally owned Lilly Pulitzer Signature store in Memphis, is saying goodbye to the community. The store owners shared the closure announcement on social media.
The Pink Door to Close After 25 Years in East Memphis
Operated by Mimi Taylor and Semmes Humphreys Vaughn, The Pink Door is a locally owned women’s clothing store and boutique. The store, located at 4615 Poplar Ave #5 in Memphis, has been a staple of the community fashion scene for the last 25 years.
The boutique offers upscale women’s apparel, footwear, jewelry, accessories, and more. The store is an official Lilly Pulitzer Signature Store and has an extensive collection of the brand’s iconic bright prints and sun-soaked dresses.
The official website of the store states, “The Pink Door offers an ever-changing assortment of apparel and accessories that are the hallmarks of the Resort Chic and Lilly Pulitzer lifestyle.”
Through an Instagram announcement, the owners shared the news of the store closure. The store owners added, “Our final day of business will be Saturday, September 26, 2026.”
Taylor and Vaughn have been operating the store for the last 15 years. The owner duo aimed to introduce high fashion of the Palm Beach lifestyle to the Memphis community.

Farewell Message for the Community
In the closure announcement post, the owners of the boutique shared a farewell message for the community. Reflecting on the store’s journey, they wrote that the store began as a dream, and over the years it grew into something bigger.
“It became a place where friendships were made, milestones were celebrated, and generations of families shopped with us. For that, we are forever grateful,” said the team. The owners also added a note of appreciation to the community for their support.
The team encouraged its customers to visit the boutique before it permanently closes. They added, “Until then, we hope you’ll stop by to shop, reminisce, and help us celebrate the memories we’ve made together over the past 25 years.”
The Pink Door owners did not share any official reason for its closure. The boutique’s closure will leave a significant mark on the Memphis retail and fashion scene.
