The Corner Pantry is starting a new chapter in Lafayette, with plans to relocate its popular hot food and catering business after closing its longtime neighborhood grocery store.

The family-owned business has closed its location at 801 Foreman Drive, where it served the Lafayette community for more than five decades. Corner Pantry will now move to 203 Winchester Drive, taking over the former Domino’s Pizza space according to Developing Lafayette.

The new location will focus on catering and takeout, allowing Corner Pantry to continue serving many of the recipes that have become favorites among generations of customers.

Corner Pantry has deep roots in the community. The original property first opened as an A&W Drive-In in 1966 before becoming Corner Pantry in 1971. Multiple generations of the same family have since operated the neighborhood grocery, deli and catering business.

An opening date for the new Winchester Drive location has not yet been announced.
