One of Williamsburg’s most celebrated restaurants has left the NYC dining scene quietly. Mesiba, managed by Bar Lab Hospitality, closed its doors on July 19. The restaurant team shared the closure announcement on social media.
NYC Mediterranean Restaurant Mesiba Closes
Located inside the Moxy Brooklyn Williamsburg hotel, Mesiba served Mediterranean cuisine with influences from the Levant and Israel.
In the announcement, the team wrote, “After an unforgettable run, it’s time for our Mesiba to come to an end.” They thanked the community for its continued support and love.
The team said the space will continue to be available for private events. “But fear not, while we conjure up our next adventure, the Mesiba space will still be available for private gatherings as part of @moxywilliamsburg,” added the team.
Following the closure announcement, several customers of the restaurant expressed their disappointment on social media. One customer commented, “I absolutely loved this place and spent my birthday with you all a few years ago!”

About the Restaurant
Mesiba was a Michelin Guide-recognized restaurant for its Middle Eastern and regional cuisine. Mesiba began its journey with Moxy Williamsburg in 2023. The boutique hotel on Bedford Avenue features 216 rooms, bright interiors, restaurants, and bars.
The dining options in the hotel included Mesiba, a Tel Aviv-inspired restaurant that served Levantine food. Other than that, the hotel was also home to Bar Bedford, Jolene, and LilliStar.
It gained popularity in the community for its unique dining experience and romantic atmosphere. The space featured round tables arranged for communal eating, Israeli DJs, and lively Mediterranean music.
The restaurant team did not share any official reason for its closure. Mesiba left the New York dining community with fond memories and long-lasting bonds that will be cherished forever.
