Carnegie Deli is reopening its doors on September 15. It will be located at 834 Seventh Avenue, New York City. The legendary deli is known for its oversized pastrami and corned beef sandwiches, cheesecake, and celebrity-filled Wall of Fame.

The deli will open in the former Stage Deli space. Stage Deli was once one of Carnegie Deli’s biggest rivals during New York’s famous “pastrami wars.” The space later became home to Roxy Delicatessen.

Carnegie Deli is now owned by Sarri Harper, the granddaughter of former owner Milton Parker. Harper continues the family business through nationwide shipping and appearances at venues and events. This includes Madison Square Garden, the U.S. Open, the Saratoga Race Course, and the Belmont Stakes.

“When the former Stage Deli space became available, it felt incredibly fitting,” said Harper. “There’s so much New York deli history in this space, and the opportunity to continue that legacy on Seventh Avenue made this feel like the right next chapter for Carnegie Deli.”

A new sandwich called The Carnegie Deli Colossus will also be available. It features pastrami, corned beef, turkey, Swiss cheese, coleslaw, and Russian dressing served on rye.

The deli will also offer breakfast and other traditional deli dishes, including Lox & Latkes, Corned Beef or Pastrami Hash, and the Carnegie Deli Omelette. New menu items include Babka French Toast, Full Lee Loaded Reuben Fries, and Fried Deli Pickle Chips.

Carnegie Deli’s famous cheesecakes will return as well. These include Classic New York Cheesecake, Fresh Strawberry Cheesecake, and Black & White Cheesecake. Black & White cookies will also be available.

Carnegie Deli will occupy an approximately 2,500-square-foot space. It will offer 110 seats and will feature a classic New York deli design with wood-paneled walls, closely placed tables, a deli counter, and a dessert case. The iconic giant pickle and Carnegie Deli merchandise will also return.

The restaurant will also bring back its Wall of Fame, featuring photographs of famous guests. This includes names such as Mel Brooks, Robin Williams, Stevie Wonder, Steven Spielberg, and more. The restaurant will open daily from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., and seating will be available on a walk-in basis only.

The reopening of Carnegie Deli to Seventh Avenue will bring back a familiar part of New York’s deli history.
