Pepper Lunch appears to be planning a new Orange County location at 2800 N. Main Place Drive in Santa Ana, according to a recently filed plan review. The permit application points to space within MainPlace Mall, although the company has not yet publicly announced the project.

Founded in Tokyo in 1994, Pepper Lunch has grown into a global brand with more than 500 locations across over 15 countries. The concept is based on an exclusive interactive dining experience in which meals are served on patented iron plates heated to high temperatures, which allows guests to finish cooking premium beef, steak, chicken, seafood, and vegetables to their preferred doneness right at the table.

The restaurant’s menu features a variety of Japanese-inspired comfort dishes, including its signature Beef Pepper Rice, sizzling steak plates, hamburg steaks, teriyaki chicken, seafood entrees, curry, and pasta. By combining the speed and convenience of fast-casual dining with the excitement of tableside cooking, Pepper Lunch has carved out a distinctive niche in the restaurant industry.

The brand has been steadily expanding its presence in the United States by introducing its “Sizzle It Your Way” concept to new markets.
