Records tease that The Spicy Bean Lab is set to open its first brick-and-mortar store in Laguna Beach at 1970 South Coast Highway. County health department data shows the business has submitted plans for a new construction project at that listed address.

The Orange County Health Care Agency’s Environmental Health Division site lists the company’s project plans being received in late June. However, the latest update was posted on July 26 and states “unable to approve plans”.

Expansion would mark an exciting new chapter for the gourmet coffee brand. Founded by Shey Nacpil, the AAPI woman-owned business has been delighting coffee enthusiasts with its unique blends and sustainable practices via its online store and at farmers’ markets and community events.

The Spicy Bean Lab, known for its specialty coffee infused with real spices, offers a fresh take on traditional coffee experiences. The brand uses only the best Arabica beans from Brazil and Colombia, roasted in small batches to ensure rich, aromatic flavors.
