A New York-based smashburger joint is continuing its expansion into the Garden State this summer.
7th Street Burger plans to open three new locations, bringing its New Jersey total to five. The new spots will be in Union at 2180 Route 22 E., Brick at 2791 Hooper Ave., and Princeton at 124 Nassau St.
According to the website, the Union location is set to open May 18, with the Brick and Princeton locations expected to follow in the first week of August.
New Jersey isn’t the only state getting a boost of flavor. 7th Street Burger is also expanding into Philadelphia, with a Fishtown location expected to open in late June and a Chestnut Street outpost slated for the first week of August.
Founded in 2021 by childhood friends Kevin Rezvani and Paras Jain, the restaurant debuted in New York’s East Village and has since expanded to locations across New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Maryland, Washington, D.C. and Philadelphia.
As a nod to Rezvani’s heritage, the menu and merchandise feature the Lucky Cat. He grew up working at his grandfather’s bakery in Japan, where the symbol represents “good fortune, hospitality and everyday hustle.”
7th Street Burger uses quality ingredients and keeps its smashburger menu simple.
The menu features a cheeseburger and double cheeseburger made with 100% fresh beef, American cheese, grilled onions, pickles and house sauce on a Martin’s potato bun. A spicy jalapeño burger comes with a single or double patty, topped with jalapeños and ghost pepper sauce. Vegetarian options are also available.
To pair with its smashburgers, 7th Street Burger offers both classic and loaded fries topped with all the burger fixings.
