Fogo de Chão is eyeing a major expansion in 2026, bringing its Brazilian steakhouse experience to new markets.

The expansion mirrors the chain’s 2025 growth, with plans to debut 14 to 16 new locations, including one in Princeton, New Jersey, according to a press release.

The restaurant is set to open at the corner of Route 1 and Carnegie Center Drive, Zoltek Commercial Real Estate reported.

The Princeton opening will become the Garden State’s fourth location, joining existing restaurants in Paramus, Wayne and Bridgewater.

The chief executive officer said the company has a clear expansion strategy.

“We are poised for continued growth with a strong 2026 expansion plan that includes new domestic and international openings, all fueled by our commitment to exceptional hospitality and a distinctive culinary experience. Our expansion strategy leverages the synergy between our format and design, which has proven scalable across domestic and international markets, positioning us as a global leader in experiential dining,” Barry McGowan said in a statement.

Additional Fogo de Chão locations are expected to open in Nevada, Massachusetts, North Carolina, Arizona, California and Georgia, along with international openings in Chile, Honduras and Costa Rica.

The expansion also includes newly developed and remodeled restaurants, featuring a 360-degree view of an open churrasco grill where guests can watch gaucho chefs hand-carve and grill meats.

Fogo de Chão is known for its prix fixe churrasco experience, offering a wide selection of meats, including sirloin, filet mignon, ribeye, wagyu, chicken, lamb and pork. Guests can also enjoy the Market Table, featuring seasonal salads, smoked salmon, charcuterie, antipasti and fresh superfoods.

The interactive restaurant began 46 years ago as a celebrated eatery in Brazil and opened its first U.S. location in Dallas in 1997 after gaining international acclaim. The chain now operates over 100 locations, both in the U.S. and internationally.

Fogo de Chão has not announced an official opening date for the Princeton location. Check the restaurant’s website for updates.
