Chipotle is looking to establish their third location in Peoria, according to a site plan found in city public records. The new restaurant is proposed for the Shops at Vistancia shopping center at 28576 N. El Mirage Road near the intersection with Vistancia Boulevard.
A new 2,283-square foot building will go up on a 0.7-acre pad in the shopping center. The plans also suggest that this location will include a “Chipotlane” order pick up drive-thru, which are being built into many new Chipotle locations throughout the Valley and the rest of the country.
To go through a “Chipotlane,” customers should put in online orders ahead of arriving at the restaurant. The idea is that orders will simply be paid for and ready to pick up so that customers do not have to idly wait in their cars, which in turn would reduce the traffic typically generated by traditional fast food drive-thrus.
Representatives for Chipotle could not be reached for comment regarding this new location in Peoria. If these plans are approved, we suspect that this Chipotle would open sometime in 2023, barring any delays with construction and permitting.
