Birrieria Los 3 Hermanos is opening at 17218 SE Powell Blvd, Suite B in mid-August, with brothers Kevin, Christopher, and Alexis Jasso García behind the project. Kevin confirmed to What Now Portland that the restaurant will focus exclusively on beef birria and goat birria, prepared in the style of La Barca, Jalisco, making it one of the most specialized Mexican restaurants to open in Portland this year.

The menu will feature tacos, quesadillas, golden fried tacos and quesabirrias, all centered around the same slow-braised meat cooked the way the Jasso García family knows how to cook. No distractions, no sprawling menu. Just birria, done the right way.

“We are only dedicated to birria. That is our specialty,” Kevin said.

Birria has taken Portland by storm over the past several years, but most spots in the city lean toward the trendy Tijuana-style quesabirria taco that blew up on social media. A restaurant committed to the deeper, earthier tradition of La Barca, Jalisco, brings something genuinely different to the SE Powell corridor.

“Hopefully people will enjoy the birria, and we will be there to serve them whenever they want,” Kevin said.

The restaurant will be indoor seating only to start, keeping things simple as the brothers get their footing in a new market. Hours will run five days a week, closing only on Wednesdays and Thursdays.
