The duo behind a casual Asian eatery in East Sacramento is bringing a new concept to Carmichael.
Scott Ostrander and Paul DiPierro, owners of Origami Asian Grill on Folsom Blvd, will soon launch Gami Burger in the current Willie’s Burgers space at 5050 Arden Way, as reported by The Sacramento Bee.
Since 2021, Ostrander and DiPierro have cultivated a loyal following through occasional Gami Burger pop-ups at Origami, where they serve their signature smashburger—available with two, three, or four crispy patties and topped with Asian-inspired secret sauce, sunomono pickles, Fresno chilis, and American cheese on a toasted brioche bun. Guests can customize with toppings like bacon, avocado, or fried egg.
While the full menu is still in development, Ostrander told What Now Sacramento that the permanent location will allow for a broader selection, including chicken sandwiches, ahi tuna steak burgers, shaved pastrami-style burgers, steak sandwiches, and loaded fries. The eatery will also offer a kids’ menu and healthier options like salads and bowls, along with milkshakes and soft-serve for dessert.
“The menu is classic Burger fare but with our Origami sensibilities and details,” Ostrander noted.
