A popular local Indian restaurant chain is adding a second Sacramento location in retail development at in the Broadway Corridor. India Oven, a family-owned restaurant chain, is filling the former Sourdough & Co. space at the 16th @ Broadway building. This news was first seen in the Sacramento Business Journal.
Owner Raami Cheema opened the first India Oven in Grass Valley in 2004. Today, India Oven has restaurants in Citrus Heights, Sacramento, Elk Grove, El Dorado Hills, Roseville and Auburn, according to its website. Most of the locations offer a lunch buffet and a standard menu featuring classic Indian starters, curry, biryani, sides, and naan bread. India Oven also has a three-course chef’s prix fixe tasting menu.
According to the Business Journal, Cheema has filed for renovation permits and said work shouldn’t take long once approved by the city. The new restaurant is anticipated to open at the beginning of 2025 in January or February. What Now Sacramento reached out to Cheema for more details regarding the new location’s menu offerings but hadn’t heard back by the time of this coverage.
