Johnson Furniture announced its permanent closure after six decades in the business. The retailer is located at 283 S Seguin Ave in New Braunfels. It will close its doors for shoppers in September. The closure announcement was shared on social media as the owner decided to retire from the business.

Johnson Furniture Announced Its Closure

Johnson Furniture confirmed it will close its doors on September 30, 2026. According to a recent social media post shared by the retailer, an “End of Business Sale” with 15% off all in-stock items started on August 3rd. Shoppers will also get free parking behind the store.

The closure decision was first shared in an earlier announcement on July 1. Carol, the owner of the store, mentioned, “In 1966, my parents opened the doors of Johnson Furniture Company with a dream of serving the families of New Braunfels and the surrounding communities.”

The showroom has served generations of New Braunfels customers furnishing their homes. The store said it has built long-standing relationships with customers throughout its history.

Carol also shared the reason for the closure decision, citing, “After much reflection, I have made the decision to retire and close this chapter of our family’s business.”

In the announcement post, the owner expressed gratitude for wonderful memories created at the space. The post also acknowledged the support and help of every employee, vendor, customer, and community member.

July 27 marked the final day customers could place custom orders before the closure. This allowed time to complete them before the store closure.
