A new Indian concept called Himalayan Spice & Savor is preparing to debut in Pacific Beach, located at 1768 Garnet Ave.

The new restaurant is set to move into the former home of Tweety Thai Cuisine, according to a recent liquor license. Now that the accomplished business owner has successfully launched a restaurant in Serra Mesa, he is ready to launch a new concept with Himalayan Spice & Savor. It’s unclear when this restaurant will replace Tweety Thai Cuisine, which closed in early 2024 after several years. What is expected is a variety of delicious Indian cuisine with plenty of vegetarian options. The recent liquor license application suggests that alcohol will be served at this restaurant when it opens. Business partner Raj Kumar Thakur, who has extensive experience in the USA, Nepal, and India, is assisting in the new restaurant. He works at Natraj Tandoor in Laguna Hills and has also worked as a chef at several Himalayan restaurants in San Diego.

“Himalayan Spice & Savor offers an authentic Indian dining experience, featuring a variety of flavorful dishes made with fresh ingredients and spices from India,” according to the company. “From rich curries to tender kebabs and aromatic biryanis, we cater to all tastes with options for vegetarians, vegans, and gluten-free diets. Whether for family gatherings or special occasions, enjoy a memorable meal that brings the true essence of India to your table.”

The owner has been in the United States for nearly 15 years and has worked as an Indian chef in various locations, including a local Indian restaurant in France, an Indian restaurant in Dubai, and Nepal. He plans to use his experience and expertise to open Himalayan Spice & Savor in the Pacific Plaza shopping center, which is home to numerous co-tenants such as Union Bank, Vons, Petco, CVS Pharmacy, Jamba Juice, Dunkin’ Donuts, and Jimmy John’s. With excellent signage, visibility on Garnet Avenue, and plenty of foot traffic from the surrounding businesses, Timalsina and his team should have no trouble attracting customers when this new concept opens.
