Gus’s Community Market announced its first location outside San Francisco in Los Gatos in Spring 2027. The approximately 18,000-square-foot store will be located at 15980 Los Gatos Blvd., in the Cornerstone Shopping Center.
The expansion will mark the sixth store operated by the Vardakastanis family. According to the company, brothers Dimitri and Bobby Vardakastanis, who currently oversee the family business, have received requests from customers for a location south of San Francisco. The Los Gatos store will bring Gus’s Community Market’s grocery and prepared food offerings to a new market.
The store will carry fresh produce, premium meats and seafood, sushi, prepared foods, specialty groceries, locally sourced products and private label items. Customers can also expect beer and wine. The Los Gatos location will introduce several additions to the company’s existing format, including house-baked breads and an expanded prepared foods program with customizable bowls.
A café is also planned in partnership with a coffee roaster that has not yet been announced. The café will include an indoor and outdoor patio intended to provide space for customers to gather.
Gus’s Community Market began in San Francisco in 1981 as Haight Street Market and now operates five locations across the city. The company said additional details about the café and bakery program will be announced as opening plans progress.
