Oakland food truck Tacos El Último Baile is about to get a permanent restaurant space in Fruitvale. Owner Dominic Prado will be moving operations into 3340 E. 12th St. at the Fruitvale Public Market, which was previously home to Cambodian restaurant Nyum Bai.

Tacos El Último Baile has garnered a huge following in Oakland for street-style tacos influenced by Norteño, Southwestern, and New Mexican cuisine. His tacos feature corn and flour tortillas handmade from Tortillas De Harina MamaCuca, as well as fresh grilled ribeye, pollo, brisket, carnitas, and more.

The new permanent space will allow Prado to perfect the menu that has consistently drawn huge lines from his food truck. “I have no reason to change what’s already been successful for me,” Prado tells Oaklandside. “With the understanding that I’m going to a different market. I want to be aware of that.”

Prado hopes to be ready by September. In the meantime, he aims to raise $80,000 through a GoFundMe Campaign that will help cover the costs of opening his first brick-and-mortar restaurant. As of this posting, the community has already contributed almost $12,000.
