It was recently announced by Pie Bird Bakeshop owner Hannah Jacobsen that she will be opening her new bakeshop at 2218 NW Market Street.
According to the Pie Bird website, Jacobsen founded her business in 2018 and has been showcasing her pies at farmers markets in the area. She started out making pies from picked berries with her grandmother.
“I am so excited to create the cutest, coziest little pie oasis for my employees and customers,” Jacobsen said in an Instagram post. She also said in the post she is hoping to open by July 1.
Jacobsen currently sells her pie at the University District Farmers Market on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., and at Ballard Farmers Market on Sundays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. She also works with an organization called Pie Club which delivers the pie of the month to people for $45 per month.
Some of the monthly pie flavors have been blackberry apple, bittersweet chocolate chess, black & berry crumble, and cherry lime. Jacobsen will now have a permanent location in the Adams area to make their pies and distribute them.
