Mista Boiga, a new smash burger concept from the team behind Big Trouble Pizza, is getting ready to open in Toronto at 191 Geary Avenue.

The company’s new concept is set to move into the former home of Big Trouble Pizza, which closed in January 2026 after eight years in business, according to Insauga. The team is expected to launch Mista Boiga Burgers on April 24. The shift marks a clear change from pizza to a more focused burger concept, with recent social media posts highlighting the new direction. Customers can expect a lineup centered on smash burgers.

Big Trouble Pizza previously operated multiple locations across Toronto, including Chinatown, the Annex Hotel, and Geary Avenue. Its final location at 191 Geary Avenue served as the brand’s primary home before closing earlier this year. The transition to Mista Boiga Burgers builds on the fact that burgers had already been on the menu before the closure.

Recent posts from the company point to a more streamlined menu and identity. A video shared by the team references their journey and plans, centered around burgers. While additional details have not been formally outlined, the concept remains tied to the original Big Trouble team. The change allows the group to continue operating in a familiar space with a refined focus.

The menu is expected to include items that were already popular with customers, such as the OG smash burger and the Kwispy Wanch Burger, made with ranch, jalapeños, pickled onions, and crispy onions. Another option, the Gaucho Melt, features flame torched cheese, chimichurri, and aioli. The burgers have historically used beef sourced from The Butcher’s Son. This will be an excellent landing space for Mista Boiga Burgers, as Geary Avenue continues to grow as a food destination in Toronto.
