The Mexican concept contributing to Toronto’s thriving nightlife is opening at a storefront outside city limits.
From Insauga.com, the Papi Chulo’s team is preparing to open their newest location in Oakville at 263 Lakeshore Road East. This is their first venture outside city limits, again being opened by Pnut Gallery Hospitality. The listed opening date online right now is Nov. 9.
The hospitality company is bringing the same energy and menu to Oakville. Along with the opening, they are also introducing their Mistletoes & Margaritas Oakville pop-up during the holidays.
“We fell in love with the Lakeshore area because it reminded us of Ossington — a vibrant, walkable strip with great restaurants, shops and a strong community feel. We saw an opportunity to bring the fun, energetic atmosphere Papi Chulo’s is known for to Oakville,” the team said in a release.
Papi Chulo’s currently operates at 121 Ossington Avenue in Toronto. It first opened in 2019, and has become popular due to their snack bar and margarita tower. This area is called Trinity-Bellwoods, just west of downtown.
Their menu is a wide range of starters, handheld sandwiches and tacos. Taco flavors include staples like birria, al pastor, fish, steak and pulled pork. While many Mexican options are available, burgers and lemon pepper wings are served as well.
The restaurant is coming to the west side of Lakeshore Road, next to Mercato Sociale and Kelly’s Bake Shoppe. Along with these spots, Pii Nong Thai Oakville and Andrea’s Cookies are also across the street. This is close to the intersection of Trafalgar Road, just a few blocks from the beach.
