A brand new wine and charcuterie bar called Park Manor 75 is making its way to the South Side, located at 600 E. 75th St.

Owners and business couple Charlette Stanton and Jacare Thomas tell What Now Chicago they expect to open the new business sometime in August 2022. Guests can expect wine and craft cocktails; mellow, low-decibel drum and bass music; and small bites. Stanton’s charcuterie boards, which she started as a hobby during the pandemic, will feature various meats, cheeses, vegetables, fruit, and breakfast foods. Guests can also expect art plastered across the walls, likely from Black artists.

Stanton and Thomas hope this new wine bar will spotlight Black entrepreneurs and encourage more Black-owned businesses to open in the area. Everything from the menu and specialty wine will be created by Black business owners and creatives, according to the owners. On top of being a lightning rod for black-owned businesses, the owners also hope this new business will be a place where individuals can foster conversations in a creative space.

There won’t be a bar to order at, and don’t expect to find liquor such as Maker’s Mark or Bulleit. Instead, a mixologist will come tableside and inform guests about the wine program or create a crafted cocktail tailored to each individual.

“We want to build a legacy for our children and build something beautiful for the community,” Thomas told Bock Club Chicago. “We want to be a benefit to the community and have others see us and want to buy property next door. We’re excited about the possibility of what it might look like if we do this right.”
