According to a recently submitted alcohol license application, a new eatery, Shen’s Porridge, is coming to the Mission District.

Taking over a space at 694 Valencia Street, the concept will land near establishments such as Taqueria El Buen Sabor, The Kickback Beer Garden & Restaurant, and Yellow Moto Pizzeria.

Owner Jimmy Shen tells What Now San Francisco that the concept and menu are still being developed, but that he hopes to open Shen’s Porridge at the beginning of next year.

While little additional information is available at this time, Shen’s existing dining concepts in San Francisco may provide further insight — he is the restaurateur behind Dumpling Home and Otoro Sushi in Hayes Valley, as well as Dumpling Story in Pacific Heights.

Stay tuned for updates.
