Local franchisees Jiger Patel and Pranav Desai are preparing to bring a beloved spicy chicken staple to Philadelphia this year. The partners are opening a Dave’s Hot Chicken at 9173 Roosevelt Boulevard this winter.

The restaurant will occupy 2,995 square feet in the Northeast Shopping Center. The Roosevelt Boulevard location is the first of eight stores Patel and Desai plan to open in the region.

The restaurant will be the first Dave’s to open in the Delaware Valley.

Dave’s Hot Chicken opened its first store in Los Angeles in 2017. The restaurant quickly gained an avid fanbase and began franchising in 2019. Over the past five years, Dave’s Hot Chicken has experienced meteoric growth, amassing more than 100 locations across four countries.

Dave’s Hot Chicken keeps its menu simple. Customers can choose between chicken tenders or sliders. Guests customize their meal’s heat level, ranging from no spice to reaper-level spice. The restaurant offers fries, cheese fries, and kale slaw as sides.
