Back in November, What Now Chicago broke the news of Naansense’s triumphant return. The popular, fast-casual concept from long-time friends Hiran Patel and Viral Patel announced plans to reopen in two new locations, following the Covid-induced shutdown of Naansense’s original storefronts in 2020.
It appears Naperville will be home to the third brick-and-mortar. While the owners did not respond to requests for comment, lease intel obtained by What Now Chicago suggests a third store, already advertised on Naansense’s website but without the address, will open on Naperville’s East Ogden Avenue in the Iroquois Center shopping mall. There, Naansense will operate out of a 2,300 square-foot retail space. Naansense’s website indicates the shop will open in spring 2022.
Naansense is described as an Indian street food café and, before closing down, was popular for dishes like Tiger Tacos, chicken tikka masala, and yogi salad. The brand also featured customizable bowls and drinks like mango lassi.
The owners have been relatively quiet regarding the reopening of its first two locations. According to Naansense’s website, the Loop storefront on Franklin Street will open early this year, while an Oakbrook location, opening at 83rd and 22nd Streets, is slated for summer 2022.
