Dutch Bros Coffee is getting ready to open more locations in Northeast Florida, including one site in St. Johns County at U.S. 1 and McCoy Way in St. Augustine.

County officials recently obtained an application for a 950-square-foot location with a drive-thru on a 0.8-acre lot, according to Jacksonville Daily Record. Company representatives tell the publication this site is “still in the very early stages of planning,” so an opening date is unavailable. Dutch Bros Coffee is currently working with its real estate and development team to determine how many locations the company will open and where. While these will be locally operated, all upcoming Dutch Bros Coffee will be company-owned.

The fast-growing coffee company has over 700 locations across 14 states, mainly in Midwest and West, with the majority in Oregon, California, and Texas. Dutch Bros Coffee plans to open its first Florida site in the Orlando area. The company plans to open at least 150 locations this year, with at least 130 company-owned. Brothers Dane and Travis Boersma founded Dutch Bros in 1992 and have had Joth Ricci lead the company’s expansion as the president and CEO.

When these new Dutch Bros locations open, customers can expect a variety of cold brew, chai, hot coffees, energy drinks, teas, lemonades, smoothies, and a handful of snacks, such as granola bars and muffin tops. The drive-thru kiosk will focus on its mobile orders but will have a seating area outside for walk-up orders. The company will have to compete with several other drive-thru concepts coming to the area, including Ellianos, Scooter’s, 7Brew, The Human Bean, Dunkin’, and Starbucks.
