A new business has submitted a permit application along with site plans to the Sterling Heights Planning Commission to fill in a commercial space inside Viceroy Plaza. Aga Istanbul Kebap will occupy a 3,290-square-foot restaurant space at 2715 14 Mile Road. The space was previously occupied by a few different restaurants since 2013.

The new restaurant will have an occupancy of 98 customers and plans to open from 11:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., though it’s unclear whether the restaurant will open seven days a week. Incoming operators Ali Cevirme and Hasan Yildirim are hospitality veterans who previously opened a successful restaurant in Ontario, Canada called Maison Istanbul.

“With limited Turkish dining establishments nearby, we are filling a gap in the local market,” the owners wrote in the submittal, citing close proximity to a diverse population, high foot traffic, and a growing demand for culture diversity in the area as additional reasons behind their location choice.

Aga Istanbul Kebap will specialize in Turkish cuisine, including appetizers, various salads, and entree plates. Some noteworthy items include a classic Shepherd’s salad, chicken and beef doner plates, different kebabs, and Turkish cheese dish called “pide.” The menu also includes sandwiches, pizzas, wings, and sides for those looking for a more casual experience.

“The restaurant’s goal is to celebrate and promote Turkish cuisine and culture while fostering a sense of connection among diners,” said the operators. “By sourcing fresh, local ingredients and importing hard-to-find items from Turkey, we prepare each dish with care to deliver a high-quality dining experience that appeals to a wide range of customers.”
