Husband-and-wife duo Garnette and Miranda Roberts are opening a Ziggi’s Coffee location in Dexter at 7061 Dexter-Ann Arbor Rd. The new location has received city approval and is anticipated to break the grounds in Spring 2025. The franchisees expect to open the location in June or July of 2025, according to MLive.

The Roberts have always wanted to open a drive-thru coffee shop. Now that the project is moving forward, Garnette Roberts will transition from his academia and student service career to running the coffee shop full time, with Miranda Roberts staying at her position directing international programs in engineering at the University of Michigan and helping with the operations.

“Miranda’s comfort was coffee, but finding a coffee shop in our area with the convenience of a drive-thru was a challenge,” Garnette said. “I loved the drive-thru only concept and the company pillars of excellent customer service, exceptional products, and the commitment to the local community,” Garnette Roberts told MLive.

According to Roberts, he hopes the coffee shop to become a legacy for their three children. The Roberts also plans to engage with the Dexter community and become a familiar presence in the area.

The franchisees are already working on another Ziggi’s location in Pittsfield Township where they reside and are on the look for a potential third location.
