According to SF Eater, Jane the Bakery is preparing to debut an outpost at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, located at 151 3rd Street. Taking over a spot formerly home to Grace, the bakery will land alongside museum dining concepts such as Cafe 5 and Steps Coffee.
What Now San Francisco reached out to the business’s owner, Amanda Michael, to inquire about her plans for the upcoming location; however, she could not provide additional information before the time of publication.
For readers who are unfamiliar with the concept’s beginnings, the San Francisco-based bakery first opened in February 2011 on Fillmore Street. It was founded by Michael, who named it after her daughter. The upcoming locale will mark its seventh location — joining existing outposts across San Francisco and Tiburon.
“At Jane the Bakery we love baking bread,” Jane the Bakery shares on its website.
“We carry an extensive variety of breads, from sourdoughs to soft sandwich breads, whole grain loaves, baguettes, ryes, and also gluten-free breads… We bake several dozen breads in-house daily as well as a full line of laminated items and pastries. Our breads and pastries have quickly gained recognition as some of the best you can find.”
Jane on Third is slated to open in August 2025. Follow What Now San Francisco on Facebook for updates to this story.
