Love it or hate it, shopping is draining work that requires the correct fuel. Mall food courts have long been providing shoppers with not only a place to rebuild their energy reserves but also to take a load off, enjoy a good meal, and rest for a while. In that spirit, the Wolfchase Galleria is getting ready to welcome a newcomer to its dining options. American Wing Company has been moving through the permitting process and is getting closer to opening in the shopping center.
The concept will be breathing new life into a storefront that previously housed a Chipotle in the 2760 North Germantown Parkway mall. Paperwork filed with the Memphis and Shelby County Division of Planning and Development shows that the 919 square foot space won’t require extensive work-in fact, it is detailed as: “Some kitchen cooking equipment shall be replaced with new tenant cooking equipment. The finishes, ceilings grids, mechanical including plumbing & electrical shall remain as existing. The hoods shall remain as existing.”
An American Wing Company location previously operated out of the Oak Court Mall food court, but is no longer open. The menu consists of a range of classic comfort foods-think cheeseburgers, hot dogs, fries, and-of course-wings; dishes certain to delight and sate shoppers.
It is unclear precisely when American Wing Company will be ready to serve guests, however the restaurant has been moving steadily through permitting, suggesting an opening is in the not too distant future. What Now Memphis has reached out to ownership and will update readers when more details become available.
