Fresh Flavors Arrive in New York: September 2025 Openings
September 2025 introduced five new names in the rich culinary scene of New York, including bakeries, diners, chicken joints, and more.
1. Chick-fil-A

The beloved chicken chain’s new Forest Hills outlet could be a great pick for casual, family outings. The Forest Hills location is run by local owner Jonathon Dickson, a former TV host.
Chick-fil-A, Forest Hills, offers dine-in, carry-out, and third-party delivery services. New York’s chicken lovers can stop by Monday through Saturday from 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.
2. Mexi

The Financial District now has a new Mexican eatery, perfect for date nights or casual dinners. Patrons can visit Mexi for a vibrant food program featuring Mexican bites. Hand-pressed tortillas made from imported organic corn masa are a menu highlight.
Adobo and chipotle sauces and chicken tinga are prominent items as well. Mexi stands out for its collection of 400+ mezcals sourced from Jalisco, Durango, Guerrero, Puebla, and beyond.
Led by WF Hospitality, Mexi is nestled in a landmark building from the 1600s. The décor blends earthy materials and Catholic iconography, inspired by the colonial homes of Mérida and Yucatán.
3. Angelina Bakery

This bakery with Italian influences debuted on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. Angelina Bakery is shaping up to be a go-to spot for breakfast and light lunch, offering pastries, coffee, pizza, and gelato. Tony Park from Italy is the founder of the newest eating spot.
Angelina Bakery arrives with New York/Italian-style pizza by the slice and lemon sorbet cups served in natural lemon shells. Student-friendly lunch specials and bomboloni are other menu highlights. Starting September 8, the NY bakery will serve patrons daily from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. for the first month. Evening hours are expected to roll out later this fall.
4. Ayah

Ayah has arrived in SoHo, bringing traditional Moroccan flavors to the neighborhood’s growing culinary scene. A curated menu by chefs Geoffrey and Aïcha Sbaih presents classic and modern dishes, highlighting Morocco’s culinary heritage. Menu highlights include tajines and chhiwates, traditional Moroccan small plates. New York mixologist Adrien Lefort leads the bar program at Ayah.
Presented to New York patrons by 3rd Space Hospitality, the food establishment brings an appealing interior. Custom-made tables, archways, handcrafted windows, lighting by Moroccan artists, velvet curtains, and gold-accented mirrors are some highlights. Murals and hand-painted walls add to the charm of Ayah.
5. Yasubee Authentic Ramen

Japan’s popular Yasubee Authentic Ramen introduced its first-ever New York location this September. The Chelsea location serves bold ramen flavors alongside classic Japanese recipes. New Yorkers can enjoy spicy ramen alongside Yasubee’s Tokyo-inspired drinks, including Yuzu Ale and Matcha IPA.
The popular ramen spot brings Tsukemen to NY after serving patrons for over eight decades in Japan. Yasubee Authentic Ramen, NY will also offer small plates, such as karaage, steamed gyoza, chilled furikake edamame, and shishito peppers.
These five new spots bring fresh flavors and cultural influences, keeping New York at the forefront of the foodie scene.
